I need to rethink this, had a breakfast sandwich 5 points, coffee 2 pts, chicken sandwich 4 points, tomato salad 0 points, bread 4 pts, turkey sandwich 7 pts, chips 3 pts, 1 mini reese's 1 pt, hummus and crackers 3 pts = 29 points and no exercise.
Really one day I'll get this right. Can someone help?

Okay, I'll be honest, I'm up .4. This morning I weighed in at 201! I knew that chicken tortilla soup would be bad news!
I'm not going to stress about it though. I walked for a mile yesterday and am getting ready to do it again tonight. In addition I walked for 15 minutes at work today.
I had a 4 point breakfast sandwich, some tomatoes and soup for lunch. Then I made spaghetti of which I had about 1/2 cup with the tomato bruschetta I made. The only problem is I also had 2 pieces of bruschetta and some crackers with the tomato as a dip. Then 2 reese's minis.
Crap! Why can't I do this? Why do I constantly blow it? Oh forget the not stressing! I can't help it, I'm tired of being FAT!
Okay, deep breath and now I'm putting on my shoes to go walking.
As Scarlett would say, "I'll think about it tomorrow".

Still down 1.2 pounds, hoping for more tomorrow when I officially weigh in for the first time, but since I made soup tonight that probably won't happen (so much sodium in the broth). Tight Ass is not doing her job but I'm hoping this week she'll kick it up a notch. I went shopping and my dinner menu for the week is as follows:
Sunday: Chicken Tortilla Soup
Monday: Spaghetti with sausage and bruschetta for the family and spaghetti with the bruschetta for me.
Tuesday: Some kind of oven fried fish (I think I have cod), with veggies and fruit
Wednesday: this is our eat out night but I think I'll have jambalaya for my family and turkey sandwich for me.
Thursday will be frozen Mongolian beef
Friday: ham and mac and cheese for the family and an egg sandwich for me
Saturday: we'll be at my sister's for a niece's birthday so I'll just have to be extra careful.
I'm also trying to work on my exercise so the plan is 30 minutes a night except for Wednesday because with music lessons and church it's just too hard.
Okay so I need to clean the kitchen and then start laundry. I'll walk when the sun goes down.

Well, I've lost a pound and so of course I had to follow up that victory with 2 days of eating crappy food. Why do I sabotage myself like that? I'm good for 3 days and then I blow it. Well, that's ridiculous because I never used to be that way.
So I've decided that I need an alter-ego to help me on my way. Introducing Tight Ass! Tight Ass is one and has one, she doesn't blow the eating program every 3 days, she doesn't knock things over with her ass when she turns around in a small place and she rocks. Tomorrow she's moving in with me and when I falter she will save the day.
On another note I got my test results back from my annual exam and all was good! My cholesterol is 180, my HDL is 50, my LDL is 108 ( a little high but not bad), my triglycerides are normal. But guess what? I'm smack dab in the middle of perimenopause! First, I already knew that because I started skipping my period when I was 39 and hot flashes have begun. But anyway, what a crock! 46 and now I'm OLD! That sucks!

Okay all, I've never announced my weight before so here goes...this morning I weighed 200.6. Did the earth shake, did I just feel the earth shift on its axis? Hmmm let's see...the lights are still on and the world still seems to be rotating, so I guess my announcement didn't throw off the universe. Now that that's taken care off, let's get down to my day.
I've decided that if I want to lose weight I need to do one thing: Stop watching The Food Network. I mean really, how am I supposed to stay out of the kitchen when there are pies to be made, fattening food to be eaten and Paula Deen deep frying just about everything. Am I the only one who wants to plan my vacations around "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives"? So, starting tomorrow I'm taking The Food Network off of my favorites and getting up and going outside instead of to my fridge.
I think I ate pretty well today, we'll start with the good news. I made my own breakfast instead of McDonald's like the rest of the family. Then at Church I found out we had a meeting to attend so it was off to Del Taco where I ate 2 soft tacos and...NO FRIES! Dinner was a sandwich and small bag of chips. According to WW I ate 20 of my 24 points. Now the improvements that still need to be made, that would be including some veggies and fruit throughout the day. I'll try that tomorrow.
I'm off for a 30 minute walk and then bed. Not a bad Day 1, how are you doing?

The night before Day 1
Armed with a new pair of cushy walking socks and a desire to sleep on my stomach, I am now ready to begin my journey to becoming a healthier 46 year old. You'll notice I didn't say a skinny 46 year old, I think I'll start with healthy and see what happens.
Quite a few years ago I lost 60 pounds and in the last 4 years I've gained about half back, and now I'm ready to get back on the diet train and regain my health. Or at least the ability to wear the pants hanging in my closet!
Tomorrow will be Day 1 and I'm giving myself a year to be someone healthier than I am today. I hope that this blog will help me stay motivated, give me accountability and provide a place to find a little support and hopefully inspiration.
So I'll see you all tomorrow, wish me luck.
